Unusual hand crafted glass gifts for all the family. Commissions welcome.
Pate-de-verre is a glass making technique dating back to Ancient Roman & Egyptian times. Rediscovered in late 19th century France it was popular during the Art Noveau period.
Each piece is made by creating a clay mould into which glass pastes are layered and then cast in the kiln. The technique produces a textured appearance on the outside & either a more heavily textured or highly glazed inner finish. Silver or gold gilding is applied after firing.
Each piece is unique.
